Square Toe Shoes - Yes or No?

Guys, for the most part, don't keep up with current trends in footwear.  In fact, most guys don't keep up with fashion trends whatsoever.
Guys tend to look at what other guys are doing and follow suit.  Problem is, if the guy they're drawing inspiration from doesn't pay attention either, it's like the style blind leading the style blind.  Let me put it to you this way, if you're still wearing the same style shoes you wore 10 years ago, chances are, you could use an update.  Same goes for your hair style, but I'll save that for another post.  For now, let's stay on track and talk shoes.

I'll just come right out and say it, square toe shoes are out of style, period and it's not just your dress shoes.  Same goes for your casual shoes and sneakers.

The only real exception is something like this shown below.  The toe is only slightly squared off and this is totally fine in my opinion.
Classic has been back for a while and it's all about the classic round toe.  Round toe shoes are sleek, sexy and believe it or not, they also make you look slimmer.

It's all about creating a streamlined look from head to toe.  Big chunky, square toe shoes add bulk to your feet making you appear shorter because they break up the streamline.  Same thing goes with pleated pants.  The added fabric in the pleats draws attention right to your waist, and if you're carrying a few extra pounds, that's probably not where you want attention.

Start thinking classic.  Trends come and go, but classics almost never go out of style.  Take a look at your shoes and see if you need to up your game in that department.  Remember to look at shoes that are sleek and simple in design with a modern yet classic round toe.

  1. Thank You For Sharing. Everybody has a favorite pair of shoes. That quality Girls bridesmaid shoes we know we can wear for years. Obviously, trends come and go, but some are here to stay and stay. It´s definitely all about simple lines and classic materials.
